Dr. Valentina Bruccoleri

Art historian, researcher and curator 

Valentina Bruccoleri is an award-winning art historian with expertise in Asian art and Islamic art. After attending part of high school in China, she graduated from Ca’ Foscari University (BA), Sorbonne University (MA & PhD) and INSEAD. 

 

Her PhD thesis received the Solemn Prize of the Chancellery of Universities of Paris, the European Award in Iranian Studies of the Societas Iranologica Europaea and the Award of the French Association for Chinese Studies. 

 

She worked as an assistant archaeologist for the Louvre Museum in Uzbekistan, worked at the Musée Guimet and has taught at the École du Louvre, Sorbonne University and Ca’ Foscari University. 

 

Driven by the wish of facilitating the understanding between cultures, she highly values language learning. She is fluent in multiple languages including Italian, French, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish and German. She studied Persian at INALCO in Paris and is now learning Arabic.

 

Since 2021, Valentina Bruccoleri has been collaborating with art galleries, auction houses and luxury brands for research, writing and consultancy in art and history.
